LaCie Unwraps All New NAS OS 2.0 Software for Network Storage
It used to be that Network Attached Storage devices were simple beasts. You get your device, you drop in your storage, connect it up and you’re done. The odd bug fix download, sure, but the feature set you bought was the feature set you kept. Not any more. We’re now in the era of NAS devices running their own, bespoke operating systems. Following in the footsteps of Synology and Q-NAP in releasing OS updates recently is LaCie, whose NAS OS 2.0 is now available to download and install on the company’s Network 2 range.

Add-in Update: Squeezebox Server 7.6
Logitech this week pushed out a major update to their Squeezebox Server software, which controls the Squeezebox range of digital audio receivers. An add-in for Windows Home Server v1 is available, which Windows Home Server 2011 owners can install and run the standard Windows application via a Remote Desktop Connection.

Windows Home Server 2011 System Builder Edition Launched in Japan on May 21st
According to a press release issued by Microsoft Japan, the System Builder edition of Windows Home Server 2011 will be launched across the country on May 21st. The company have also announced launch support from five local system builders and will hold a launch event in Tokyo’s Akihabara district.
