With excitement generated for new media streaming, file sharing and storage solutions here at CES this week, Microsoft’s Windows Home Server “Vail” was conspicuous by its absence, other than news of a Windows Phone 7 app that has been developed for the platform.
CES 2011: Steve Ballmer’s Keynote Address
The Steve Ballmer keynote address at CES 2011, where we heard about Window Phone 7, Xbox 360/Kinect, Microsoft Tablet, and a real short glimpse at the next version of Windows.

LG Brings Magic Motion to Their Smart TVs
We last checked out LG’s range of Smart TV’s back in August at IFA 2010, where the company previewed its new NetCast platform, powered by Plex. At CES this week, LG will unveil its latest range of connected TVs with the company seeking to differentiate from their competitors on ease of use. There’s no fancy QWERTY keyboard remotes here – just their new Magic Motion remote control which you’ll wave in the air to select from one of four options on the Smart TV’s dashboard – TV Live, Premium Content, TV Apps and Launcher Bar.

Enter the Smart TV, Exit the 3D TV?
True or false? “After 3-D TV failed to excite consumers last year, manufacturers are betting that following the app-laden path of smartphones and tablet computers will fatten up what have been ultraslim profit margins.”

On the Road Again to CES
It is that time of the year when WGS travels to Las Vegas for the annual Consumers Electronic Show. An absolute wonderland of literally acres of the products that companies hope will catch the consumer’s eye over the next year.

Clickfree @ CES 2010
I really like my WHS. I really do. However, it is the do-all-everything Cadillac of the storage backup solutions. Enter Clickfree. Simply plug in a Clickfree device into your computer, and Clickfree does the rest.
AverMedia @ CES 2010
On Thursday, I met with AverMedia to check out their latest product additions. A piece of software that Terry liked and a couple of DVR devices.

CES, No One Should Have This Much Fun
Hello everyone! It is Saturday evening in Las Vegas and CES is finishing up it’s 3rd day. Tomorrow is the last day, and I just needed to let you know I owe the WGS readership a few articles.
XStreamHD: Netflix on Steroids
I had a chance to talk to the folks at XSteamHD yesterday. They are a streaming service provider similar to Netflix. With a few differences.
The nVidia CES 2010 Press Conference
This is my first full day at CES. After walking though a bit of the Las Vegas Convention Center, I headed over to the Hilton where nVidia held a press conference to announce what is up and coming out of the GPU giant this year.
