I'm In Manchester (UK) received my discs at the beginning of the week. Started the upgrade and the server recovery disk is corrupt got about '1 cm' in on the progress bar and didn't do anything. tried it from a different machine exactly the same! Tried copying the server recovery disk to the desktop and it wouldn't. Not impressed I then spent the next 12 Hours reinstalling version 1.1 (original discs) and all the patched etc etc. Not happy spoke to HP support I just hope they escalate this to somebody senior. They have obviously outsourced disk duplication to a mickey mouse outfit!
The only positive form this experience (I did get all my data back) is the absolute need to backup data from the server which I will now commit to seriously.

Anybody know if the HP online backup service (Amazon) is any good and value for money?

I use KMTTG (<a href="http://code.google.com/p/kmttg/)" target="_blank">http://code.google.com/p/kmttg/)</a> to automatically transfer and decode from Tivo to WHS.

Then I use Streambaby (<a href="http://code.google.com/p/streambaby/)" target="_blank">http://code.google.com/p/streambaby/)</a> to stream back to Tivo and other computers.

They work great. Too bad no one has packaged them as an add-in to WHS.

The internet ate my first post, sorry in advance if there's a double -_-

Slightly underwhelming SSD, my intel first gen X-25m still keeps up 0_0. Plexter will need to do better to compete with the likes of intel, OCZ, crucial and co.

Jim when you get one of these in let me know:
<a href="http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/solid_state_drives/ocz_z_drive_e84_pci_express_ssd" target="_blank">http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/solid_state...</a>

^_-

Honestly SATA is too far down the south-bridge to realize the full potential of SSD; they're ok for now (and with SATA revision 3), but sooner or later either another interface will be needed or motherboard manufacturers are going to need to up the ante on PCI slots.

Once those Gigabytes reach half TB stage for around £150 then they will re-capture my interest.

Hi everyone,

I would like to mention that on my server side I decided to use the Toolkit v1.1 to disable the VSS shadow file on the server side that is not part or should be part of the WHS, well at least not officialy.

Not sure if that concern other then the OEM RTM Version of WHS. But this has dramaticaly reduced my amount of fragemented files and by the same token accelerated the defragmentation of the Server.

Also I just bought the new version from version 10 to 11 as an upgrade at a cost of $50 US dollars or 99 dollars wihout upgrade path also I have a further reduction as beta tester on the already reduced price for the upgrade path so 10 PC at $50 / 10 = $5 per PC for the Pro version and also even less if you calculate the server one also :) a mere price of $4.54 and even less for me as Beta user.

Anyway do I realy need 10 to 11? = no

Should I not take 11 at $5 US dollars per PC weel? weel no obviously.

And BTW it is way faster, more efficient and yes prettier ;)

See you
