Syabas Announces Partnership With Intel to Bring the Atom CE4100 to Future Products

Syabas, the manufacturer of the Popcorn Hour and Popbox digital media jukeboxes today announced a strategic partnership with Intel to introduce the Atom CE4100 processor to future products. The Atom CE4100 is the same chip that powers the competing Boxee Box and TV solutions from D-Link, Iomega and Viewsonic.

Combined Blu-ray & Hard Drive Caddy On the Way for Popcorn Hour

Yesterday I met with the team from Syabas Technology to hear their 2011 plans for the Popcorn Hour and Popbox. We discussed a wide range of initiatives that the company will be announcing very soon (and I won’t steal their thunder), but one very cool product I did spot is a brand new slim-line Blu-ray player from LG that the company will be selling soon for the Popcorn Hour C-200.

Western Digital Takes a Leap Forward With the WD TV Live Hub

One of the more impressive devices I’ve seen here at CES this week is Western Digital’s WD TV Live Hub. Launched back in October, Western Digital’s next generation media player streams media across the network and includes local storage for holding downloaded content from top-tier content providers including Netflix and Blockbuster on Demand. Other services available include YouTube, Pandora, Live365 and more.
