About We Got Served

We Got Served is a popular technology news and community site which was founded in February 2007. It is written, edited and moderated by a dedicated and knowledgeable team of technology enthusiasts across the world who are focused on bringing you the latest news, reviews, tutorials and support for the products you’re using today and tomorrow. We created We Got Served as a place to learn about new technology, help readers make the most of the products and services they use, and most importantly to create a community where readers can learn, discuss and share their experiences and knowledge with others in need of support. However you use the site, we hope you enjoy it.

dm About We Got ServedDave is a Moderator at WGS Forums and Reviewer for the site. He is currently IT Manager for a UK group of companies selling, configuring and supporting Microsoft’s range of Business Solutions products.

Having graduated back in the mid 1970′s, his starting point was working on radar and guidance systems using early 8-bit Intel and AMD processors, with the highlight being the creation of the navigation and target tracking systems in the Sea King AEW Helicopter for both the Royal Navy and Spanish Navy.

He has also worked as European Support Manager with a company creating hard disk controllers and SCSI chipsets in the mid 1980′s (a far cry from today’s technology) and then spent 5 years as UK Technical Support Manager with Zenith Data Systems, getting his hands on early ‘laptops’ and the first colour portable PC in Europe.

Bodog, Moderator

sil1 About We Got ServedBodog has been using Windows Home Server since it’s release as an enthusiast, but not one who is deeply technical. He started out on WGS as the image library editor and poll manager and progressed to become one of the moderation team. He enjoys spreading the word to others on WHS best practice and participates on a number of Australian Media Center and IT forums supporting WHS users. His own home network includes a couple of Windows 7 Media Centers, XBOX 360 extenders and a HP MediaSmart EX485.

He lives in Sydney, Australia with his wife and teenage son and adorable black labrador puppy (who is hopefully going to become a guide dog when he gets a little older).

His other passion is his Chrysler Crossfire coupe – which although it never sold in large numbers is a great car offering some unique experiences – not unlike WHS really!

Et 225x300 About We Got ServedEtoa (a.k.a. Raleigh) is a retired electrical engineer who worked in the aerospace and communications industry for more than 40 years.

He has been working with computers since before the first PC appeared and according to his wife has way too much computer hardware laying around the house.

Raleigh got his first home server soon after they became available and now runs three in his home network. He has not dipped his toe into the Vail pool yet because doing so would require building new 64 bit hardware which is going to have to wait a while.

His other interests are sun/sand/surf outdoor activities and digital photography.

He lives in Hawaii with his wife and five furry feline friends.
