NETGEAR Arlo and Samsung SmartThings Become Firm Friends

NETGEAR this week announced a partnership with Samsung that has enabled its Arlo smart home security cameras to integrate with the SmartThings platform. The hook-up allows Arlo cameras to interact with other devices on the platform and adds video recording to its Smart Home Monitor security solution.

Once paired, users will be able to trigger video recording using SmartThings door, window and motion sensors. Arlo cameras can themselves serve as additional motion detectors on the platform, triggering lights and other devices as required.

Arlo cameras can be monitored and managed via the SmartThings app, with a live feed available alongside other devices, which will be far more convenient than managing the smart home via a multitude of apps.

SmartThings users will find that integration with NETGEAR Arlo cameras is available immediately via the mobile app for iOS and Android.
