Linksys Targets SMBs With New Range Of IP Security Cameras

Earlier this year, Linksys announced a new range of security cameras, complete with compatible recording unit, which it’s aiming at the small business sector.

“The introduction of our new IP surveillance camera offerings combined with Linksys Business switches and VPN routers build upon our commitment to deliver high quality and reliable connectivity and security solutions that provide scalable connectivity to meet the growing demands of small businesses,” said Mohammad Hoda, vice president of Linksys international. “The cameras and network video recorder give small businesses and resellers with tools they need to provide superior security, surveillance and supervision.”

The 4 different models of camera aim to meet various needs, but all have wide dynamic range, motion detection, and alarm/event notification (and all but the Mini Dome have night vision).

Linksys Camera Range

The video recorder (LINKSYS LNR0208C) is reminiscent of every NAS unit, ever, but supports 2 (hot-swappable) 3.5″ HDDs of up to 4TB each (in JBOD, RAID1 or RAID0 configurations). It also features gigabit ethernet, 2 eSATA ports, 3 USB 2.0 ports (one for USB backup, two for use with a UPS).
