The USA may be experiencing stock shortages which will delay the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 on T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint but here in the UK, things are looking up. Those who have pre-ordered their handsets should be able to pick them up from Friday, whilst Samsung will officially launch the new phone at 9am Saturday at the Samsung Experience Store, Westfield Stratford.

This will be the first store in the UK to have the phone available for general purchase, with the handset being released across the UK an hour later at 10am. As you’d expect, the company are planning a range of events at the launch, including (so it says here) a champagne breakfast for customers queuing to check out the new device, one to one tutorials and “academy” sessions which will walk through the crazy amount of new features as well as a series of giveaways throughout the day.

Those freebies are said to include box seats at the Royal Albert Hall, tickets to see Robbie Williams at Wembley plus an all expenses paid trip to Dublin to see the boy band superstar rehearse for the big event, tickets to see Chelsea FC (hopefully lose) at Stamford Bridge and trips to the London Eye. Samsung will be handing out goody bags including a free GS4 S-View cover and copies of Wired magazine as well as offering free case engraving.

It all starts at 9am on Saturday 27th April at Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford (London) (or earlier if you’re queuing).
