Yes, the $400.00 price is a (large) turn-off, but at the same time it’s a “one-time” buy (at least for a few years), and I love the versitality that a true server brings to the home, compared to a NAS. I’m still on the fence about it, and that’s why I bought your book. I would love to get some more info, a “deeper” look at the O/S… I’m guessing that the “larger than expected” interest in the book that you are seeing is because people like me need to have more info. Hint hint, I hope you’re already working on a “full exposed” s/o book!

With the original WHS (and, to a lesser extent, WHS2011), the info was avaiable on almost a daily basis, many guides and books were written, public knowledge peaked as the enthuasist community grew.

This is obviously not happening with Essentials, for all the obvious reasons (Essentials pricing, the very unpopular Microsoft decisions regarding the whole series, the “killing” of WHS, the movement to NAS and cloud solutions). So, what are we “enthusaist hobbyests” to do?

Dig arond for sound advice, try to stay in contact with the remaining community, and hope that We Got Served marches on !

One last thing regarding LightsOut: aren’t they still waiting on a fix to a known Micorosft bug that wakes the server up every now and then??
