CES 2013: More Seagate Streaming Storage Lands With Wireless Plus and Seagate Central Hard Drives

Seagate’s follow up to the wireless streaming GoFlex Satellite has arrived with not one, but two new connected devices. One portable, one for the home.

The Seagate Wireless Hard Drive fires out its own Wi-Fi signal, to connect and stream movies, music and more from its 1TB on board storage. Push HD movies simultaneously to three devices or stream photos, songs and documents up to eight devices at once, courtesy of a free app for iPad, iPhone, Kindle Fire and Android devices. Coming soon at $199.

If that doesn’t take your fancy, or you’re looking for more of a home hub, Seagate Central is designed to hold all of your content and push it out around the home. It’ll stream, share and backup your Windows or Mac computers, organise your media and is accessible via a web browser, apps for the usual mobile devices as well as an app for Samsung’s Smart TVs or Blu-ray players (2012 models and up). It’ll ship soon in 2, 3 and 4TB configurations from $189.99.
