Looks like HP are finally ready to refresh the ProLiant MicroServer, as news reaches us of two new models being listed by resellers.
Kiwi resellers are now offering 250GB and Diskless versions of the new line, named the MicroServer N54L. The diskless model ships with an AMD Athlon NEO processor and 4GB RAM, whilst the second model ships with storage but only 2GB RAM on board. Listings are currently as follows:
704941-421 MicroServer AMD Athlon NEO N54L (2200-2M) Dual Core 2GB, 250GB NHP SATA
708245-425 MicroServer AMD Athlon NEO N54L (2200-2M) Dual Core 4GB, Diskless NHP SATA
HP Canada have both models included on their current price list (http://www.hp.com/canada/utilities/pricing_lookup/data/list_price.xls). The 704941-421 250GB line is listed at $491 CAD with the 708245-425 Diskless edition listed at $444 CAD.
The new model will be the third generation of HP ProLiant MicroServer, following the previous N36L and current N40L specs. We speculated almost a year ago whether HP were planning a new, more powerful MicroServer, built around the NEO N54L. Looks like plans may well be moving ahead.
Thanks to Steve B for the tip!
