Late last week, Synology announced a DVBLink 3rd party application for use with various Synology NAS units.

For those unfamiliar with DVBLink, their series of products work in a manner similar to, and in conjunction with Windows Media Center, for viewing and recording TV programs.  With DVBLink, you are are able to record and/or view programs on just about any platform imaginable, including Windows, Mac, Android, Windows Phone, IPad, and the iPhone.

DSM 4.1 is required for use with the DVBLink package and will work with the following Synology units:

  • DS413j, DS213air, DS213, RS812, RS212, DS212j, DS212+, DS212, DS112+, DS112j, DS112, RS411, DS411slim, DS411j, DS411, DS211j, DS211+, DS211, DS111, DS410j, DS210j, DS110j, RS409, DS409slim, DS409, DS209, DS109

The application comes with a 20-day trial, after which you must purchase the package for €25,21.
