Does anyone know if this update fixed the OSX Lion Time Machine support?  Did this update add support for AFP which would allow Time Machine backups?  This was not mentioned in the release notes, nor was it mentioned in the known issues.

See http://www.wegotserved.com/2011/10/21/os-lion-apple-mac-windows-home-server/ for the Windows Home Server v1 workaround and more details.

Ever since the update last night, my windows phone connector keeps telling me the “alert information is unavailable.”

It does not fix Lion Time Machine support. You still need the orbital add-in which also doesn’t work for most people. At least that’s what our testing has shown. WHS is the perfect solution but is worthless for us without Time Machine support. Epic fail.

Unfortunately, this did not update the mountbackup.dll which appears to be the cause of why restoring individual files through the restore wizard (mountbackupwizard.exe) is SO slow!  This was the only fix worth having for me, but they haven’t addressed it yet.  128KB/sec-1.4MB/sec (on the super fast side for big files) is ridiculous.  I hope they decide to profile the dll for performance one day and to improve the caching and streaming from the server.  I have run across many forum posts complaining about this issue.

Please help!! I have mostly Windows machines on my network and I really want the freedom to backup my Mac along with them!! This is NOT cool. After all these years of Mac vs. PC, can’t they work side by side? I had a worse time trying to setup a MacMini Server with one Mac and the rest Windows than one Mac on my WHS. At least I have file sharing. I want to SYNC now!

I wish Orbitaltech would live up to their promise to release an update once this conflict is resolved. (which it is now)
