CES 2012: D-Link Unveils Two New High Performance Routers

If you thought the humble router has had its time when it comes to feature innovation, then CES 2012 has proved there’s life in the network-horse yet. D-Link today unveiled a pair of routers which the networking geeks may well take to their hearts.

First up is the HD Media Router 3000 (DIR-857), a four Gigabit-port device which ships with an on-board USB 3.0 for  storage connection and media sharing, both locally and remotely courtesy of D-Link’s SharePort Cloud technology. An SD card slot is also bundled for high-speed media sharing.

  • Two Gbps Bi-directional routing – True Gigabit speed
  • Industry-fastest N900 (N450 + N450) speed
  • Industry-exclusive HD Fuel automatic Quality of Service (QoS) for uninterrupted HD media streaming, gaming and Internet calls
  • Industry-exclusive USB 3.0 port for 10x faster streams than USB 2.0
  • SharePort Cloud technology lets users share and access media content such as videos, music and photos stored on a USB storage device or SDIO card both locally and remotely
  • SD card slot for sharing videos and media across a network
  • Four Gigabit Ethernet ports for blazing wired connectivity

 

PowerLine DHP 1565 front 300x192 CES 2012: D Link Unveils Two New High Performance Routers

The Wireless N PowerLine Gigabit Router (DHP-1565) is the second hybrid Powerline/Wi-Fi device announced at the show (alongside TP-LINK) providing an integrated network connection via your electrical wiring alongside the usual wireless standard.

Features:

  • Up to 500Mbps for PowerLine AV Network and up to 300Mbps for Wireless Network and 4 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Ports for great wired connectivity
  • USB 2.0 port with SharePort Plus for sharing USB printers or storage devices across a network
  • Intelligent Antenna Technology eliminates dead spots
  • Common Connect Button for easy PowerLine and Wireless Setup
  • Built-in QoS Engine for enhanced Internet experience
  • Whole-home coverage without unsightly cables
Both devices are shipping later this month, with the HD Media Router 3000 priced at $169.99 and the Wireless N PowerLine Gigabit Router at $159.99.
