SAMSUNG TECHWIN AMERICA BABY MONITOR

CES 2012: Samsung’s Wi-Fi Baby Monitor Supports Parenting for the Digital Generation

I’m taking a break from CES this year, thanks to the arrival of our second baby back in September. If I was over in Las Vegas though, I’d be certainly checking out Samsung’s new Wi-Fi Video Baby Monitor.

The 640 x 480 IP-based camera may not deliver the kind of Hollywood-class high definition video we now demand from our devices, but then again the movie being made (Baby Sleeps, Baby Cries, Parents Get Frustrated) isn’t exactly Oscar winning material either. Still, the camera offers one-touch a connection that’ll hook up a Wi-Fi signal to your router in under 30 seconds, zero software to install, and you can view captured video on PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices remotely at SamsungSmartCam.com.

The camera is wall mountable or will sit happily on a flat surface and has a lens than can tilt from 0-150 degrees for optimum positioning. The camera also has a low light setting for viewing the baby in the dark. Hopefully sleeping peacefully. Two way talk is also included and upon detecting sound or motion, a clip will be zapped up to your YouTube account for viewing after you receive a push notification on your device of choice.

The Samsung Wi-Fi Video Baby Monitor is available in March for $149.
