CES 2012: Samsung InTouch Skype HD Camera Brings Web Apps to Dumb TVs

That flatscreen you bought a few years ago is starting to look a little crusty now all of these Connected TV’s are hitting the market, right? Well, if you’re looking for an upgrade, Samsung’s new InTouch Skype HD Camera not only brings 720p web video chat to your screen, it also packs all of those apps you’ve been eyeing enviously.

The camera can be placed on top of your TV, or other nearby flat surface and has a title range of 30 degrees to allow you to find the best view of the sofa. Apps include YouTube, Google News and Weather and a full web browsing experience, supported by a full QWERTY remote control with directional scroll buttons.

$199.99 buys you a little extra smarts for your not-so-smart TV. The Samsung InTouch camera system ships in March.
