A release candidate of Advanced Admin Console 2011 was released over the weekend. The new version, v0.9.5, signals a change in licensing for the add-in which will no longer be offered for free at launch. Pricing for the add-in has yet to be released, but may differ for Windows Home Server 2011 owners and Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials users (classed as “Home” users by the developer) and those running the add-in on Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials.
Advanced Admin Console 2011 allows you to extend access to various parts of your server’s administration controls from within the Dashboard, including:
- Computers
- Search
- Recycle Bin
- Server Manager
- Administrative Tools
- Services
- Control Panel
- Performance monitoring resources.
- Command Prompt,
- Windows PowerShell
- Task ManagerRegistry Editor
The full list of changes for v0.9.5 is as follows:
- FIXED: When running the Dashboard from a client PC resizing the Dashboard window may result in improper drawing of the AAC portion of the Dashboard window.
- FIXED: Update notification didn’t work for some users.
