AWIECO Home & Small Business Servers Now Available to Order

It’s rare for a software developer to add system building to their core offer, but that’s exactly what Windows Home Server specialist AWIECO has done. As we previewed last month, the company has launched a range of consumer and business-focused servers which are now available to order from their website.

The range comprises three Windows Home Server 2011 systems alongside another three models running Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials. The base level systems are powered by the Intel Atom D525 processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM and supports storage up to 5TB utilising 5 x 2.5″ hard drives. An optional DVD-RW drive is also available. The base servers ship at €799 for the WHS 2011 version (HS-D525), and €989 for the business server.

Step up a class and we have the Pro-HS (€949) and BS-i3 (€1139) servers. These are fitted with Intel’s Core i3 processor, 4GB RAM (up to 8GB supported), up to 10TB storage and the same optional DVD-RW.

At the top of the tree, we find the AWIECO Power Server i3 (€949). Available with either WHS 2011 or Windows EBS 2011 Essentials, the Power Server is fully configurable with your choice of 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives with capacities from 1TB to 3TB, up to 16GB RAM and an optical drive.

All servers include an optional 2.5″ system drive, tucked away in the very cool looking chassis, leaving 5 bays available for storage. Intel RAID support is delivered in box and you’ll also spot a 2×16 LCD display and a year’s guarantee available too.

They may not be the cheapest servers on the market today, but they’re certainly well equipped for a range of home and business uses, and we’re big fans of the chassis design. Check them out over at the AWIECO shop.

Thanks to JazJon for the tip!

I was ready to jump on the AWEICO but I forgot how poor the Dollar to Pounds rate was.

It looks like HFX and AWEICO use the same exact case. Where can we buy this case for a possible DIY project?

    Motherboard:
    ZOTAC H67ITX-C-E Mini-ITX motherboard

Not sure where do by the slot loading drive as well.

I'd also be curious what they've done to make it Silent .

I really want to support a new company like AWIECO, but I'd like to know just how much more I'm paying compared to a self build. So far this case is the best looking replacment for the EX495 MediaSmart. I'm possibly thinking of just upgrading my CPU/Memory of my EX495 but I'd really like USB 3.0, and other speed boosts etc.

Nice motherboard, I'm picking one up myself. You can get silent PSUs like the Silverstone Nightjar or Seasonic X, problem is they are standard size (160mm deep) so might be hard to squeeze into an ITX case. For the rest of the machine you connect the processor heatsink to a heatpipe that touches the case.
