Synology Refreshes DS-411 For Improved Performance

Less than a year after the launch of the DS-411+ NAS Server, Synology have announced a refresh to the line, promising improved performance.

The DS-411+II is powered by a 1.8 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM, kicking our read/write speeds of 110.73 MB/sec and 105.48MB/sec respectively. Designed predominately for small business users and prosumers, the four bay device ships with Synology’s DSM 3.1 operating system, delivering a wide range of features for home and office alike. They include Synology’s Hybrid RAID storage management technology for drive pooling and protection, Mac and PC Client backup support, DLNA media and iTunes servers, a web server and mobile access alongside support for PC Workgroup and Active Directory environments.

Two USB 2.0 ports plus an eSATA port is fitted for external expansion, once you’ve filled the internal 12TB storage capacity and you’ll find Gigabit Ethernet on board for speedy file transfers.

The Synology DiskStation DS-411+II is shipping now globally.
