Win a HP ProLiant MicroServer!

If you’ve been looking for a new 4 bay server for your home or small business, then I hope you checked out our review of the HP ProLiant MicroServer (if you didn’t, it’s here). We gave it a “Highly Recommended” award last month, praising its performance to cost ratio, easily expandable chassis, and surprisingly good processor. It makes for a great first server, without a doubt.

And, thanks to IT247, we’ve got one to give away to a lucky WGS Reader! It’s been a little while since we’ve run a reader competition here on the site, so we’re really pleased to have such a great prize to give away.

To be in to win you have a couple of choices (or to double your chances, you can do both). Here’s how you enter:

Enter via Twitter

1. Follow WGS on Twitter

2. Click the Tweet button below to enter the competition:

Enter via Facebook

1. Like WGS on Facebook

2. Click the Share button below to enter the competition:

We’ll collate the entries on Twitter and Facebook, pull an entry at random, and they’ll get the goods. The competition is on for 1 week from today, so finishes on Tuesday March 8th at 11.59pm GMT. It’s open to all, so good luck!

Update: The competition is now closed and I’m delighted to announce the winner is Stephen Kershaw. The MicroServer will be winging its way to Stephen in the next few days. Thanks to all who entered.

Competition Terms & Conditions
As websites in the UK are now regulated by the UK Code of Advertising (as of today), we have to publish a full set of legal terms and conditions which cover any competition we run. So, for reference, they’re here.

Is this one open to everyone? – ie Non US residents
I guess if the winner is non UK they'll need to pickup the costs of shipping it to their location?

    • http://www.wegotserved.com Terry Walsh

Hey Bodog – it's open to all, and we'll fund shipping out of the ad kitty.

  • Paul Cahill

I'd love to enter but Facebook is evil and twitter is for the birds.

    • Humberto

      That's funny!!

  • Ron Spitzer

I agree with the above person. I would like to enter but will not ever use twitter or facebook. Give us another option

  • Mike

I completely understand the marketing angle behind requiring FB or Twitter. But choosing to exclude e-mail or Web site entries is cutting off the majority of your readers: all or nearly all have primary contact with WGS through the site or site-related feeds; a significantly smaller percentage use FB and Twitter as the primary contact. Perhaps WGS fans can TRIPLE! their chances by hitting your forums in addition to the other two. If it's too late to reconsider for this contest, perhaps you can ensure that the "traditional" means are still available too. Thank you!

  • Bryan

agree with above comments. Won't use Facebook or Twitter. Too many assume that everyone is using Facebook and Twitter.

  • Henk

agreed, FB or Twitter are not done here also.

  • jmwills

Thanks for the opportunity, The blog is always enjoyable to read.

  • Robert

Agree with above comments regarding FB and Twitter.
    Everybody deserves a second server.

  • Dennis

Awesome!! I'm running an older HP Mediasmart EX475 for my home computers and am in desperate need of something along this line to backup my stuff for my photography… dang… looks sweet!
Facebook and Twitter done… thanks for making it easy for us to have a chance at this :)

  • Jose

People who are complaining about twiter/Facebook open an account and don't use real personal info if your so paranoid. When contest is over just delete or ignore the account.

    • Bryan

Facebook and twitter are more a waste of time than a security risk.

  • Shawn

Everyone should just boycott this contest so I can win!

  • Mike

I'm in … usually I don't go for competitions that require FB etc but what the heck – it's a nice prize :-)

All right! A box I can test out WHS2011 on without wiping my own WHS box!

I'm crossing my fingers as hard as I can!

    • http://www.wegotserved.com Terry Walsh

Almost – you'll need a RAM upgrade for WHS 2011….

  • there's always one

haha, clearly wgs are trying to drive more traffic to their site hence the facebook / twitter entry requirement…

why would they offer an email entry etc? how is that going to help them? why would they give you something for nothing…

    just a thought…

I've never been here before, got me in! so clearly their tactic is working!

    good luck to all ;)
