TRENDnet Brings World’s First 450Mbps Concurrent Dual Brand Router to CES

One router, two wireless networks. That’s the promise of TRENDnet’s new TEW-692GR, a 450Mbps Concurrent Dual Band Wireless N. We’ve seen dual band routers before, but rather than broadcasting on either the 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHz frequencies, TRENDnet’s latest model broadcasts on both frequencies simultaneously, which translates into two wireless networks from a single device.

The router includes Gigabit Ethernet sockets for fast wired connections, plus Wi-Fi Protected Setup support for easy setup. Of course, that quoted 450Mbps speed is the theoretical maximum – real world speeds are likely to be significantly less.

The TEW-692GR ships in April for $249.99.

Maybe I'm missing something but doesn't the Netgear WNDR3700 and the Linksys WRT400N broadcast simultaneously on two bands?
