Iomega’s SuperHero Charging Dock Will Rescue Your iPhone Contacts From Peril

Iomega today announced a new charging dock for iPhone that’s set to make backing up your contacts a cinch. The $69.99 SuperHero includes a 4GB SD card on to which your iPhone’s Contacts and Camera Roll will be backed up every time you dock to recharge.

The company says the device is designed for the “many iPhone users (who) rarely if ever back up their iPhone’s contacts and images to their iTunes account.” Even the conscientious can benefit from the SuperHero, which also serves as a great solution for migrating data to a new handset at upgrade time.

The SuperHero is able to back up multiple handsets to the same SD Card, and is managed via an app downloadable from iTunes. Users can select the content to be backed up with each dock as well as restore data back to the handset. Apple’s iPhone 4, 3GS, and 3G are all supported, and the SuperHero is also able to charge the iPod Touch. Expect it to hit stores later in the year.
