Tranquil PC Unveils Freeview HD (DVB-T2) Support for ixL

Tranquil PC this week launched a new model in their range of iXL Media Centers, and announced support for Freeview HD across the range with an integrated DVB-T2 TV tuner. The new model, the ixL-Media Platinum Net, is optimised for use with Windows Home Server, according to the company, with an 80GB solid state drive replacing a standard hard drive. The thinking is that recorded TV, music, video and photos are streamed directly from the home server, rather than stored locally on the PC.

The new model also sees the use of a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5-650 processor, 4GB RAM and slot loading Blu-Ray drive alongside the choice of dual DVB-T2 or DVB-S/S2 tuners – both tuner options are supplied by Blackgold in the form of the BGT-3620 and BGT-3595 respectively.

The ixL-Media Platinum Net is available now from £999 ex VAT. Check out our review of the iXL from July.
