Add-in Update: AutoExit 2009 for Windows Home Server Vail UR1

Nick Asseloos of Asoft will released an update to AutoExit 2009 this evening.  This update incorporates the following features:

  • Support for Spanish
  • A commandline tool that can be used to execute various shutdown actions

Per Asoft:

The commandeline tool can be very useful in cases where you script or want to execute actions in other applications that then execute the commandline tool and have the power of AutoExit to shutdown/reboot/… machines.

For those who may not know, AutoExit 2009 is a power management add-in which allows you to shutdown, wake up, and reboot client PCs on your home network from the Windows Home Server dashboard, individually or as a group. The add-in also lets you send messages to client PCs across the network, view and edit MAC addresses and allows remote desktop connections.

You can download the latest version later today from Asoft.be.

A couple of items to make note of follows:

  1. Make sure that you uninstall the previous version first.
  2. The existing client can be left on the machines, unless you want the Spanish version of the client.

About Jim Clark

Hello. I’m from the heartland of the U.S. Lots of corn and beans, although Iowa is a lot more than just farmland. It also has a few computer enthusiasts (no, not me!). I’ve been around PCs since I got my 1st PC XT aloooong time ago. WGS is one of the first sites I found centered around WHS. And the best. Every once in awhile, I do get away from the KB and enjoy time with and my wife and our 4 kids. And I do have a day job.
