Add-in: AVA Media RipNet

Tranquil PC are set to launch a new add-in this month called RipNet, which allows the ripping of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs across the network, from a  PC running Windows Media Center to Windows Home Server.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta Now Available, With WGS Taskbar and Jumplist Support

Microsoft today announced the availability of Internet Explorer 9 Beta, the first public beta build of their new browser. “People go to the Web for sites, not for the browser,” said Microsoft’s Dean Hachamovitch at today’s launch. “How can IE make sites shine?” The answer is more standards support, less browser and the focus placed firmly on content.

Add-in: Advanced Admin Console vNext (Technical Preview)

Advanced Admin Console scooped last year’s WGS Readers Award for Best Windows Home Server add-in. The add-in’s developer, Andreas Miceli has been hard at work over the last few months developing a version of the add-in for Windows Home Server Vail and Windows Server Aurora. The results of his labour will shortly be revealed to the public, but not before a private beta is announced this week. The good news is that we can give you a preview of how the new version looks.
