Thecus Introduces 10Gb Ethernet PCI-e Adapter

Thecus have announced the C10GT 10Gb Ethernet PCI-e Adapter, a network card designed for upgrading the manufacturer’s network attached storage devices to support the upcoming 10Gb Ethernet standard. The new standard is stated to be up to 10 times faster than today’s standard Gigabit Ethernet connections. Thecus claim the new card can be integrated into a wide variety of network environments, including compliant with IEEE 802.3ae, IEEE 802.3ak, and IEEE 802.1q VLAN standards, and supports a multitude of widely-adopted operating systems, including Windows® Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux.

Pricing is yet to be announced, but several online retailers are listing the product with stock expected shortly.
