Add-in Update: HP MediaSmart Expander for TiVo

HP have announced an update for their HP MediaSmart Expander for TiVo add-in, which allows TiVo owners to copy recorded TV shows to their MediaSmart Server, as well as watch movies and TV shows stored on the server on the TiVo, PC or Mac.

HP Release Easy USB Transfer Add-in for MediaSmart Server and Data Vault

HP today announced the immediate availability of a new add-in for HP MediaSmart Server and Data Vault owners. The new add-in, Easy USB Transfer, will allow the contents from a connected USB drive to be copied directly over to the MediaSmart Server or Data Vault.

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Beta Now Available

At Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference today in Washington DC, the company announced the immediate availability of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Betas. Beta packages for both platforms are freely available to anyone running an RTM (release to manufacturing) version of either platform.

Microsoft Unveils “Aurora” On-Premise/Cloud Hybrid Small Business Server

At Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Washington DC today, the company took the wraps off a new “hybrid” on premise/cloud-based server platform for small business. Windows Server Code Name “Aurora” combines a tailored version of Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 R2 with connection to cloud-hosted enterprise software (for example Exchange and SharePoint) subscriptions for a monthly fee.
