Washington D.C. is about to get inundated with over 10,000 members of Microsoft’s global partner community as the city hosts Redmond’s Worldwide Partner Conference 2010 from July 11th through to the 15th. The 5 day event is used by Microsoft to share their business strategy for the coming year, with keynotes and deep dive sessions on the leading-edge technologies (as well as a few core staples) that will drive their profitability, and indeed, that of the thousands of developers, resellers and consultants supporting them.
As previewed by Mary Jo Foley here and here, Microsoft are likely to share the latest details on their Software + Services, or rather, the “All In” (with the Cloud) strategy, incorporating a variety of on-premise and cloud computing platforms across their Server and Tools business. Whether that will include news on Windows Home Server “Vail” and other new server platforms remains to be seen. Certainly, with a increasing interest in the use of Windows Home Server in the small business space, WPC would be an ideal stage to share the latest developments on the operating system.
I’m sure it’ll be an interesting week for attendees, and rest assured, you can tune into WGS for any developments in the home and small business server world.
