Add-in: Duplicate File Finder for Windows Home Server

Bassic Technologies have released a new add-in for Windows Home Server over the weekend. Duplicate File Finder for Windows Home Server helps you find duplicated files stored on your home server, allowing you to maximise the free space available.

The add-in allows discovery of duplicates via the comparison of MD5 checksums and/or file size – particularly handy for large media collections where you may have duplicate images or music files.

Duplicate File Finder for Windows Home Server is priced at $14.95 with a 30 day trial available.

    Awesome!

May be a nice add-in, but imho a ridiculous high price tag

      Yep, way overpriced.

  • WeeHappyPixie

I agree, very nice but way to expensive. Reduce the price and I will buy it.

I thought duplicate files were found by WHS and not stored.

Only for PC backups – this add-in is for files stored in the home server's shared folders.

I've have 2 issues with this add in.

    1) the trial mode stops at 8000 files and 2) It's limited to shares rather than choosing folders from a tree.

These issues make it very difficult to evaluate on a server with 13.6TB and well over 5 million files!

It might work great, but "m not gonna slap down $15 on the chance.

Look cool add-in, I'll buy if the price will be reduced!
