Computers do a great job of automating certain repetitive tasks, once programmed to do so. They are so much better at that than humans. At least me. Some humans can multitask, *all* computers can hypertask, by comparison.
There are several repetitive tasks that I would like done for me. There are several repetitive tasks that I would like done for me *and* integrated into the WHS console.
Poca-WHS is one such program that meets both of those criteria. It is designed to automate the collection of data for you, which simply relieves you of the need to do this function manually. It integrates into the WHS console.
So, what exactly does Poca do?
Poca simply runs in the background collecting podcasts from websites that you link Poca to. No need to check a website daily to see if there is a new item for download; Poca can do that for you.
Bill Rockhold, who wrote this add-in, was inspired to do so by the holy grail of WHS podcasters, the HomeServerShow.
How does it work? And how well does it work? Let’s find out.
Installation
Installing the add-in is as simple as any other add-in. Copy the msi installer to your D:Software Add-ins folder, open the WHS Setting Window in the console and install the software from the Add-ins tab, as shown below.
Reopen the WHS console, locate and click on the Poca tab.
Exciting looking, right? On a scale of 1 to 10, this would rate a 0, right?
