MSS Fan Control is an Add-In for the Microsoft Windows Home Server Operating System. It is designed to work exclusively with the HP MediaSmart Server EX47x models, and will not work with any other WHS systems.
MSS Fan Control allows the user to easily control the speed of the upper and lower exhaust fans of the MediaSmart Server. It also allows the user to configure the speed and temperature thresholds that determine how the fan speed should increase as the CPU temperature rises.

Hello, i bought my EX470 there is + – 2 year via Canada and since the beginning the ventilators turn to 620trm. I have just noted on another site in qu’ an identical model turns to 1400 trm.
You would have an idea of this qu’ it would have to be made so that my problem of temperature CPU is calmed.
The WHS turned not badly from time 24:00 /24 without too much problem, but after a prolonged stop he became nasty piece of work
(ventilator with 629trm, CPU passing of 30 with 90C° with T° ambient of 22…com me he freezes for moment, I put at the window but that cannot be a solution of transition: the CPU having returned with 30C°)
The bays are clean as well as the radiator of the CPU. There would it be a handling to make?
Your program work not……problem is into my EX470
Thank you

I’m sorry, but your question is not clear to me. I’m guessing your server may have a hardware issue if the fans do not increase speed. If Fan Control doesn’t work with your server, then that is further evidence that you have a hardware issue.

Alex,
I just want to both thank you and congratulate you on providing such a fanrastically useful add-in for my EX475. My server has to reside in quite a warm room and your add-in has greatly helped in keeping a lid on rising cpu temperature. Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Baron.

Hey Alex,
Thanks very much for your add in. Must have taken some effort and this took my server from 39 to 30 in 2 minutes. Very useful.
