Add-in Update: Directory Watcher v1.1

Daniel Buschke has released a new version of Directory Watcher for Windows Home Server. The add-in, now at version 1.1, allows you to set up email, RSS and client notification of changes to your shared folders. Options include:

  • Set the folder to be monitored
  • Set file types to be monitored
  • Type of notification (RSS feed, email)
  • Service status
  • Number of days to log the events
  • Email settings

New in this release is the ability to exclude file types from monitoring, as well as a daily notification summary. You are also able to set multiple email addresses for notifications.

Full list of changes as follows:

  • Supports German
  • RSS feed available internally
  • Flicker limited by reload
  • Test mail will now work
  • Creator shown by mail
  • Messages with QMessagebox
  • Fixed bug in feed production
  • Exclude by file extensions possible
  • Notifications collect (eg, only 1x week / 1x daily)
  • Client notification removed
  • SSL possible
  • Configuration of multiple email addresses to a monitored folder possible
  • Each folder can be executed a subsequent process (eg batch file)

    This is a great addin. I had problems getting version 1.0 working, but 1.1 seems to have fixed that.

    Note that I couldn`t get \serverusersusername to work – instead I had to dpecify d:sharesusersusername instead – all other shared folders work with UNC paths….very odd…
