Samsung Announces World’s First-Available 3D LED TV

2010 will be the year the 3D TV makes its debut, and whilst we may not see the new technology take hold for a while yet, manufacturers are certainly keen to create a splash in the market.

First up is Samsung, who this week announced a swathe of 3D TV models in various sizes across their 7000, 8000 and 9000 LED Series, the LCD 750 Series and 7000/8000 Series Plasmas. The fun starts this month with the 3D capable 46” and 55” LED C7000 with additional models rolling out over the coming weeks.

New Samsung 3D TV, Home Cinema and Blu-ray  models in the US will ship with a 3D Starter Kit, including two pairs of Samsung Active Shutter 3D TV Glasses and a copy of Monsters vs Aliens in 3D. 3D Shrek is also on the way later in 2010.

But be prepared to spend some money on these new sets, as the price of some of the larger screens are certainly eye-popping (ho-ho). Pricing runs all the way up to the $7000 55-inch 3D capable UN55C90.

I’m still unsure whether I can see the family and I sitting down each evening to watch TV wearing 3D glasses, (how about you?) but one thing’s for sure – the TV industry will be spending a lot of cash this year to persuade us that a 3D future is nearer than we think.

I can't till having them laser embed 3D view into my eyes. Kinda like Lasik.

The 7000 is indeed a breakthrough, but lets face it….it's really expensive (mainly due to the 3D). If you're not into the whole 3D thing then just grab a 6500. It's got a 120 hz refresh rate and Internet@TV for hundreds less….

I have the un55b8000 and the picture quality is soo good, i didnt really need the 3D capability and dont regret my decision. My friends always want to come around my house to watch any games!

We already had a 58 inch plasma in the family room, but we needed to replace the old Sony CRT in the bedroom. We wanted a 1080p resolution, but we were finding it difficult to get that in a smaller screen size.

It is sweet, a little funny, and a pleasing sufficient goodbye out there once much loved characters. But there’s a fairly melancholy sculpt on the procedures, as we enjoy this specific franchise’s try to hold onto it’s finalized shreds of dignity.
