Over the weekend, we reported on an issue with Fujitsu’s Home Server Recovery disc on the 1500 and 1900 Series SCALEO. The post highlighted the confusion caused to owners when attempting to perform a server recovery. Incorrect labelling within the restore wizard means that users are not sure whether their data will be deleted or not during the restore.
Today, Fujitsu posted the following message on their blog regarding the issue:
Recently, there’s been some discussion about the recovery of the SCALEO Home Server e.g. on www.home-server-blog.de or on wegotserved to clarify this, here are the 3 recovery versions and the 2 known issues:
- 10600914335 DVD Server Rec. –d /FSP:550001096 (shows the error „ for FSC-PC only”)
- 10600951197 DVD Serv.Rec.new-d /FSP:550001135 (deletes the content of the 1st HDD completely)
- 10601017968 DVD Serv.Rec.V2 d /FSP:550001190 (system partition can be deleted and recovered separately)

So, if you’re a SCALEO owner, take a look at your Server Recovery disc and check the code. If yours is one of the first two codes listed above, then contact Fujitsu at the links above to order a new Server Recovery v2 DVD. Issue resolved!
