Intel’s Ylian Saint-Hilaire has released a proof of concept network management add-in for Windows Home Server, simply called Manageability Add-in for Windows Home Server.
This is an experimental open source add-in for Windows Home Server helps perform remote computer monitoring and management. With this add-in you can discover and monitor the power state of all of the computers on a network along with performing many management operations. You also get added benefits if the computers on the network support Intel AMT, but this is not required to use this add-in. This add-in is built on top of the peer-to-peer mesh networking project that is also on this web site. So people that like this add-in will also like other tools that are part of the mesh networking tools.
Note that this is an experimental add-in since the mesh agent is not currently secure. So please don’t try this on a public network until all of the security features of the mesh agent are completed. This add-in does require Microsoft Windows Home Server.
