Happy Holidays from the We Got Served Team!

With chestnuts roasting, bells jingling and last minute gifts being frantically wrapped (in my household anyway!) we’d like to say a big thank you to all of you for your contributions to the WGS community this year, and wish you and your families our very best wishes for the holidays!

It’s been a busy year in the home server world in 2009, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed bringing you news and views on what’s been happening and what’s ahead. With Windows Home Server v1 development drawing to a close this year and the promise of Windows Home Server “Vail” (hopefully) appearing at some point next year, I’m sure next year will be equally as fun!

I’ll personally wish you all the best, and hand over to the rest of the WGS team who have their own messages for you:

As I wish all members of the WGS Forums a Very Happy Christmas, I can sum up he year as being most rewarding participating as a Moderator on a Forum for the first time in a long IT-related career. Thanks must go to those members providing active, informative and valued responses to the many questions and queries appearing here. While, as Mods, we like to help out, the popularity of WGS has reached a level that we cannot hope to participate in depth on every thread. With both Windows 7 and PP3 appearing in the last quarter of 2009, we have a lot to keep us occupied over the holidays, and I for one will be trying to enhance my main server with more disk space and improved reliability – I guess there will be many more of you doing the same. I look forward to being just as active here in 2010 and hopefully with yet more interesting product enhancements to work on and discuss with you all. Dave Marchant

Seasons greetings to the folk in the southern hemisphere, for whom Christmas/New Years is always a balmy experience, Beer, BBQs, and cricket. Smadge1

I wish all of the folks at We Got Served, members and other moderators, the best of Christmases and a most prosperous New Year. Etoa

As we enter this holiday season, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in the WGS community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let the Spirit of Christmas envelope you and bring a smile to your face. Peace be with you all now and forever. Jim Clark

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (or whatever holidays you are celebrating) – enjoy the time with family and friends. It’s geat to belong and interact with such a supportive and friendly community with a common interest in WHS – it’s great to share our WHS experiences together. For those in the Southern hemisphere also enjoying our summer holidays remember to “slip slop slap” (now that will have you snow bound members wondering) and enjoy the weather and BBQ’s. Bodog

Wow, has it already been another year? It’s been a very packed year indeed. We’ve seen two Power Packs, two more MediaSmart Server’s, two staff members get MVP Awards (myself included in that) and a number of other companies jumping into the Home Server market (finally). Many new add-ins and updates for older ones. A lot has gone on. All in all, it’s been a busy, full and fulfilling year. So with the year’s end rapidly approaching, it’s hard to not look back at the year in awe at just all that *has* happened, and some of it without notice. So with the year winding down and the holidays in full gear, enjoy the Holidays, and enjoy your rest because 2010 looks to be a good year. Drashna

Finally, from me, many thanks to all of our readers, writers, moderators, and forum contributors as well as the various hardware and software companies out there that have supported WGS with news and review kit this year – have a cracking Christmas and a fantastic New Year! See you in January 2010 for CES!

To Terry and the rest of the WGS crew: for me your contributions have made Windows Home Server certainly a lot of more fun. Thank you & Happy Hollidays to all of you!

You guys have kept me thoroughly entertained since I got a WHS setup. I can only hope MS has a new WHS version (and I don't mean just a darn power pack, MS! Lol…) planned for next year!

As it is, my WHS has an activation countdown timer that's pretty much counting down straight to Christmas day to give me a present of a black screen if I don't find a solution soon… so, subtle nudge to anyone that happens to have a shiny WHS key laying around! ;)
