We have one access point running an AT&T DSL signal and installed a Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router Model # WRT610N ver.2 to get the strongest and longest s wireless signal to our most remote condo units. We still have 3 or 4 condos on the bottom floor that get low or no signal because of some cement and brick floors and walls the signal degrades on. Because of the internal wiring of the building we cannot add any more hard cabled access points; we need to be only wireless throughout from the one AP we have now. Was wondering if a repeater concept would help those dead zones by placing a device near them where the signal is still strong and where some but not all of the brick walls are avoided. Was wondering if a Linksys WAP610N Wireless-N Access Point can be used as a repeater? If so is it compatiible with the router we are using? Any ideas on a better solution given our constraints?

We live in a condo building with 20 units. Couldn't be happier coming from a "G" network. If you know what your doing with the network, router and bridge settings I would recommend NOT installing the Linksys software. Much easier and less frustrating to do it manually. My two cents.

I just picked up one of these and a WRT610N last week. But, I am disappointed by two limitiations of this device. First, it does not have Gigabit Ethernet like the WET610N does. Second, it is 2.4 or 5.0, not simultaneous. I guess I am going to have to get 2 WET610N nd use them as access points. Linksys should have numbered this as a 310 rather than a 610 give the feature set.

I have a WET610N so I was interested in getting two of these for better coverage. I'm pretty fed up of these all in one devices. I haven't found an all in one with the quality of the WRT54G/L so I'm very tempted to get a separate router and access point.

Could be the one I'm looking for.
