Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to take a look at the “other” storage solution, the NAS device.  From QNAP, I have had the opportunity to take a look at their TS-219P Turbo NAS.  From Synology, I have had the opportunity to take a look at their DS410j NAS.  Finally, I have looked over QNAP’s NMP-1000 Network Multimedia player, which can also double as a NAS device.

Today, I am taking a look at the QNAP TS-410 Turbo NAS.

As a primer, you might want to read my unboxing post before you continue reading this review.

Before I proceed further, I will making several references to my previous TS-219P review.  Why, you might ask?

  • The company is still QNAP
  • The software UI is the same

But there are differences, which will be the focus of today’s review.

The Company

Some companies have name recognition.  Intel, Microsoft, Logitech just to name a few.  Many companies do not have that distinction, which is why I *almost* always have a “The Company” section.

So, who is QNAP?  If you wish to know, please refer to this page of the TS-219P review or this page of the NMP-100 review.  If QNAP is already a household name to you, you do not have to refer to the aforementioned reviews.

About Jim Clark

Hello. I’m from the heartland of the U.S. Lots of corn and beans, although Iowa is a lot more than just farmland. It also has a few computer enthusiasts (no, not me!). I’ve been around PCs since I got my 1st PC XT aloooong time ago. WGS is one of the first sites I found centered around WHS. And the best. Every once in awhile, I do get away from the KB and enjoy time with and my wife and our 4 kids. And I do have a day job.
