They were also HIGHLY dependent on which plug they went into (large house with wiring from different decades). I since switched to MoCA (ethernet-over-coax) adapters. Streaming HD is now no problem. As long as you have coax running thru your house (most houses do and you aren't using satellite tv over that coax they should work for you.

I've tried various powerline adapters and they worked good for networking a Tivo and a 360, BUT once I needed to stream HD from Windows Media Center they failed to cut it. I'm a Win 7 Media Center user and just picked up a second Xbox on sale to use as an extender in the bedroom (upstairs from the 7MC box). I was looking at this exact thing to try, but had read some mixed reviews about effects from light dimmers, etc. Most seemed to be positive, but I was still thinking about it because if the variability in house wiring, etc. If I could stream 1080i recorded TV without hick up, I will most likely also be getting one of these sets. Thanks.

What kind of media streaming did you do? I have a wired Canon MX700 printer and my WHS connected to it. It might not have the greatest speeds, but it gets the job done. If I need to have something large transfered or when I do a new backup, I just connect the device into the switch adapter (that has the WHS and printer connected). However, most recently my wife's MacBook is having issues with network printing. As soon as I reset both adapters, the printing starts.. very weird being my Windows 7 machine doesn't have the same problems. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone in need of a decent pair of powerline adapters. Oh yeah, this isn't the first pair I have used. My first 2 sets were the D-Link HD adapters. Both sets stopped working after about 3 months of use. I would stay away.

I picked these up from Amazon.com a few months back and they have worked well so far.
