LaCie Debuts HD Network Media Player with DLNA Capability

The storage guys continue to pump out those network media players. This time, it’s LaCie who are releasing a new HD Network Media Player with DLNA Capability, formed out of piano black plastic and designed, like much of LaCie’s latest product range, by designer Neil Poulton.

The LaCie LaCinema Classic HD is DLNA compliant (so it’ll work out of the box with Windows 7 and a host of other DLNA-compatible devices), and is equipped with a host of features including 1080P high definition playback, broad file format compatibility (including MKV and DivX), a HDMI connection and up to 1TB internal storage. The DLNA media server onboard is provided courtesy of our old friends at Twonky. A separate 802.11n wireless adaptor can be purchased if you wish to push content around the home over the air, or alternatively use the onboard ethernet port.

LaCie are looking for $249.99 for the device – expect to see savings online.

Very sexy design, are Lacie now using this across the range?
Will you be getting one to test? I would like to see how it stands up to apple TV or a HTPC (ASROCK ION 330) or something.

Unfortunately not – LaCie don't send us review units. I do have a new Iomega DMR in to review though!

Nice to see DVR-MS getting supported from a streamer, makes for much slicker integration with an MCE set-up
