Using this program, I was able to convert standard MPEG recordings and watch them on my iPhone, iPod, or really anything that can handle H.264. It's a totally free program, and it's open source. It's based on the FOSS tmpeg program. If anyone wants to help upgrade or improve it, please do... just e-mail me (address is on the project page) and I'll add you as a contributor.
