Late last year, I wrote a review for a WHS add-in called Remote Alert. It had potential, but as I stated then:
Remote Alert is one those add-ins that falls into that category of what I call “This is an example of what you can do for an add-in”.
Well, almost a year later and a few updated versions, Remote Alert is all “growed” up. Version 1.3.5 has been available for about a week now from the HomeServerLand website. There are many enhancements that have been to the program since I reviewed v1.
I say: check it out!
What is in Remote Alert v1.3.5?
Remote Alert is a Windows Home Server add-in that provides remote access notification, additional security layers and remote access activity logging. Remote Alert permits WHS Administrators to monitor remote access attempts to their Windows Home Server. Any attempt to log on to the WHS via a web browser is reported in real-time using the WHS Network Health task tray icon. A history of access attempts is maintained by in the WHS Console for future analysis. In addition Remote Alert includes an array of smart network centric technologies designed to help keep your WHS secure from outside intruders.
Experience it for yourself. Download the Remote Alert WHS add-in and take it for a test drive.
Features

- Real time network activity traffic monitor
- Real time connected session and resources overview
- Remote access activity history overview (basic client info: IP address & browser type)
