I installed this update, and then... suprise!!! Errors referencing the collector that required reinstalling the connector on ALL clients! What a waste of an afternoon... Why doesn't the client have an auto-update feature? I admit I usually just click through updates without reading the details, but it seems like they should have made it very clear that installing this update requires reinstalling the client software as well. Poor customer service from HP in my opinion.

Another update... I continued to have multiple connectivity issues between the server and my three clients. Some were appearantly caused by a patch to Windows Media Center that was pushed out this past weekend. Several calls to Tech Support (who were very helpful), reloading the connector software on the clients, then rebooting the server and rebuilding the Twonky Media Collector database, and finally, everything appears normal (at least until I upgrade to Win 7 later this week).

My experience is the same as Rav's. I did a factory reset (using the Server Recovery CD), it down loaded the patch (the LEDs appear to work correctly) and reinstalled the connector software on the clients. So far so good. One lesson learned, the Server Recovery CD calls for you to connect the server directly to your computer. It does not specify using a crossover cable, so I didn't. The first recovery was attempted with a long Cat 5 cable (so I wouldn't have to move computers) and it failed. Tech Support then told me that the cable has to be 6 ft or less to work. Second attempt with a short cable worked as advertised. Wish I could get back all of those hours I spent setting up the server before the patch...

I experienced the same collector problem on my EX495. It worked great for a day and then stopped. After this update and re-installing the connector software - it is back. I was planning to call support this weekend. Glad I won't have to.

The LED issue should be resolved in this patch. I've not experienced the connectivity failure you describe, and can only suspect it is a DNS related issue that might be resolved by a hosts file entry on your client PC.

I just spend an hour plus with HP support on the same problem. The connector software and all other access to my EX485 server stopped working a few days back. All indicators on the server were OK and I could even ping the server but could not get any response.
HP support did tested a lot of things and eventually had me to do a server recovery. Do not know yet if the problem is resolved.

I just upgraded from an EX475 to an EX495. From the beginning, the blue ststus bars on the hard drives have been flakey. The drives work fine, but occasionally the bars turn off (usually the bottom two, but once the top two. A reboot usually fixes this. Everything else was working fine, but two days ago the connector software on all three clients quit connecting (I can still see the shared files folder on their desktops). I tried reinstalling the connector software once on one computer and it failed (could not find one file it needed and aborted). I haven't had time to trouble shoot further.

I did install the connector toolkit software a day before this problem started (don't know if that's related). Do you happen to know if the connector toolkit is compatible with 3.0?
