Now that you have PHP installed, it is time to move on and install MySQL. Before I do, one of nice error checking portions of this add-in checks to see if PHP has been installed. If not, the add-in informs you of this and closes.
Once again, installing this add-in is as simple as any other add-in. Copy the msi installer to your D:SoftwareAdd-ins folder, open the WHS Setting Window in the console and install the software from the Add-ins tab, as shown below.
That is it. When you reopen the console, you will not find a MySQL tab in the main console window, or in the Settings window. As with the PHP add-in, it is simply an installer (and uninstaller) for MySQL inside the console app.
At this point, open your browser (from the WHS desktop) and enter in https://SERVERNAME/pma where SERVERNAME is the name of your WHS. If all went well, you will see a webpage similar to one the following
In the above picture, you will notice the Username is filled in as administrator. You must change the Username to root, as shown below. If you do not log-in as ‘root’, you can not set your password and configure MySQL for use.
After logging in, you will need to set your password. Click on the Change password (in RED in the following picture)
which will bring you to the following screen.
You can put in your own password here, or have the program auto-generate one for you. Your choice.
That is it! At this point, you basically never have to mess with PHP or MySQL again. These are simply the required base programs, appropriately configured, for use with WHS and WordPress.
