If you have ever wanted to host your own blog or website from your WHS, Nigel Wilks of mediasmartserver.net has released a couple of new add-ins to help get you there.
The first add-in is called WHS PHP Installer. PHP is a widely used general-purpose scripting language for web development.
The second add-in is called WHS MySQL Installer. MySQL is a relational database management system and is a prerequisite for many popular blog publishing and forum programs. Wordpress, the blog publishing software used by WGS requires PHP and MySQL.
I had some experience with installing and configuring all these programs mentioned above earlier this year using the WHS wikis. I plan on trying out these 2 add-in soon to see how much they improve the user experience in installing and configuring these programs.
If you look close, you will notice that our very own Drashna has been given co-credit for the add-in. Congrats to both Nigel and Drashna!

I installed both as well as Wordpress yesterday. It went off without a hitch. Now I'm asking myself what I'm gonna do with a blog.
