Windows 7 Media Center and Digital Programming

The ability to receive digital programming is greatly enhanced in Windows 7 Media Center.  Combining this with a greatly improved lineup of digital channels being broadcast in Clear QAM by your cable provider is bliss.
Almost, that is.  You may get the digital channels, but you may not get them automatically and you may not get them to show up in the programming guide automatically.  What hoops do you have to jump through to get it all synced?
