Is the HP MediaSmart Server LX195 or EX485 Right For You?

If you’ve been debating whether to go for HP’s entry-level, single-drive LX195 MediaSmart Server or their more powerful EX485/487 series, then check out this interview with HP’s Allen Buckner on mediasmarthome.com in which he outlines how each model has been designed for a particular target customer.

My advice is that if money is tight and you want something small to get you started, then the LX195 is a great model but if you think you’ll need to expand storage quickly, then the EX series is well worth the extra investment.

    Is the LX195 sold anywhere in the EU or is it a US product only?

    In regards to the HP 485/487, I have been informed and have an e-mail from UK Customer Relations of HP (Bracknell Office) that the HP EX485/487 is coming to the UK in the Autumn.
