This was just the boost I needed to create a Netflix account. Didn't show up in the Media Center, at first, but after closing the application and restarting, there it was. Only minor delay after that was downloading and installing Silverlight.

Haven't tried it yet, but I have an HDMI port on my laptop, and will see if I can play back on my television; should work, but even if it doesn't, for some reason, I'm happy enough.

So how do you get this content? I just tried and Netflix is not an option in MediaCenter nor is it listed on Netflix as yet…

They have license deals with some external set top boxes and allowing this to be used on extenders would violate those agreements. For example, the Xbox 360 requires a Gold "Live" subscription, but allowing extenders access would circumnavigate that agreement (which is probably a cash earner for both Netflix and MS).

Why would it not work on extenders? I don't get why you would make an extender experience less than that you get on the PC.

It has been said a million times, but the "additional content" for Media Center in the UK (or in fact anywhere outside USA) is pathetic. As much as MS can blame the complexity of licensing requirements, it is patently obvious that they just aren't interested in their customers if they aren't stateside. Will this change with Windows 7??
