TunerFreeMCE Now With Added Twitter

A new version of TunerFreeMCE, the Media Center plug-in which allows you to access a wide range of online video content, has been released today.

Version 2.8 brings Twitter integration – when you link your twitter account to TunerFreeMCE, your status will be updated when you watch a programme, so your followers will be able to see what you are watching.

Other features and fixes:

  • The ability to default to high resolution video (again, see the instructions for a special note on BBC)
  • Added parsing of BBC categories in addition to BBC channels. This adds a few extra programs that for some reason the BBC choose not to list under the program they were broadcast on, such as sports like Formula One, and the News and Weather.
  • Changed the default caching interval to 12 hours instead of 1 to cut down on bandwidth, and added the ability to extend that to 24 hours
  • Added a preference for the speed of clicks when playing the flash programs. Some people with slower connections may benefit from slower clicks
  • Fixed issues with VPD switching and Channel 4 programs.

You’ve got a funny link to the instructions – it is using imap:// instead of http://…. and still isn’t a proper url anyway :)

@Paul – Fixed the link for Terry.
