Web Folders 4 WHS allows full browser-based drag and drop functionality for files and folders when uploading and downloading files remotely. The add-in also allows you to access your files through the Windows Explorer shell and any other WebDav client that supports HTTPS.

    A very under-appreciated add-in.

    While a little fiddly to initially set up, actually being able to access files on my Homeserver shares remotely in an interface that looks almost identical to Windows Explorer is simply amazing. Ditto being able to directly open and edit Microsoft Office document formats, without having to download them first. Much quicker to use than the WHS web interface for file access.

    I access files on my Homeserver in this manner on a daily basis. Well done Brandan!

    this is not work in windows 7 (client) :(

    If it works like in vista, don’t blame the add-in, blame windows 7.

    MS has changed the way webdav folders are access in windows vista (and I suppose in W7).

    You cannot just type the https://….. access path in windows explorer as you do in XP.

    If you do, it opens up the internet explorer and shows you the directory content.

    You have to open “My computer” and select “Connect a network drive” option in the menu.

    Then you can provide the “https://….” webdav access path and mount a unit or select the “connect to a web site for…” option.

    Then follow instructions and add the webdav path.
    Then, under network, you can see the network access just created.

    If you cannot do it, you need a path from Microsoft that activates webdav access, search for it in MS windows update or download site.
